Interesting Scholarships for Art Majors

Scholarships are not just about high grades or financial need. There are actually many “interesting” things out there, and you may only qualify for a few! Here are three examples of interesting scholarships that can help you showcase your artistic talents.

Doodle for Google

Do you have a talent for design? After that, all you have to do is enter the “Doodle for Google” scholarship award! You can use art to express what brings you joy, peace, energy, or any other emotion.

Any content you want is allowed as long as you submit it through the subscription form. You should also include an artist statement to talk about why you chose this path and how it represents how you take care of yourself.

There are many awards available – and it’s not just a scholarship to win! In addition to Google swag, winners can receive:

Your artwork will be displayed as a Google Doodle for 24 hours.
$30,000 college scholarship
A $50,000 tech package for a student’s school or non-profit organization

Make-A-Greeting Card Scholarship

Do you think you can make a better greeting card than the one you see on the shelf? You only want to enter the Create-A-Greeting Card from the Gallery Collection. Winners will receive $10,000 plus an additional $1,000 for their school. Even if you don’t win and the company decides to use your design, you will still be compensated!

Students interested in applying must submit an original design in online greeting card format. Students must be 14 years of age or older and submit by March 2, 2022. Entrants, their friends, family, and others can vote for their favorites online, and the final winners will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Stuck in a prom scholarship.

You may have seen this scholarship on social media. The Stuck at Prom Scholarship is designed for students who can make their own clothing with Duck® brand crafting tape! Details of the 2022 award are yet to be revealed, but students can win $10,000 as a grand prize and $500 as a runner-up.

In 2021, the competition started on March 31 and students can submit their entries until June 9. Participating students are asked to design and wear a tuxedo or dress. Duck® Brand Drafting Tape must be part of the design, but other materials are permitted.
